Pineapple Upside Down Cake
This unique cake is not only appealing but bursts with the tart goodness of pineapple. It is also a nice cake recipe to accompany tea or coffee.
Ingredients
- Butter: 100 gms
- Nestlé MILKMAID: 1 tin
- Pineapple Slices: 6
- Baking Soda: 1 tsp
- Maida (All Purpose Flour): 200 gms
- Pineapple Essence: 1/2 tsp
- Sugar: 5-6 tbsp
- Aerated Soda: 1 cup (150 ml)
- Baking Powder: 1 tsp
Recipe
- In a saucepan, prepare sugar syrup by melting the sugar.
- Assemble the pineapple slices on a plate.
- Once the sugar turns brown, turn off the flame and pour hot caramel over the plated pineapple slices.
- Lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Now take a mixing bowl and add melted, slightly cold butter.
- Mix in the Nestlé MILKMAID thoroughly, followed by vanilla essence.
- Once it is mixed well, add the dry ingredients- maida, baking soda and baking powder in a separate mixing bowl.
- Mix the Nestlé MILKMAID mixture into this, followed by some aerated soda. Repeat the process.
- Pour this batter over the pineapple slices in the cake pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven or until the cake is done.
- Once a toothpick pricked into the cake comes out clean, remove the cake from the oven and gently scrape the sides of the cake using a knife.
- Serve upside down.
Black Forest Cake
Creamy and flavourful, black forest cake has been an absolute hit among everyone. Try this black forest cake recipe out and impress your dear ones.
Ingredients
- Vanilla Essence: 1 tsp
- Fresh Cream: 200 gms
- Maida (All-purpose Flour): 1¾ cup (175 gms)
- Butter: 100 gms
- Nestlé MILKMAID: 1 tin
- Soda Bicarbonate: 1 tsp
- Cocoa Powder: 3-4 tbsp (25gms)
- Cherries (small): 1 tin
- Milk Chocolate: 50 gms
- Aerated Soda: 200 ml
- Icing Sugar/Powdered Sugar: 2 tsp
- Baking Powder: 1 tsp
Recipe
- Grease and dust an 8-inch baking dish with oil and flour, respectively.
- In a mixing bowl, assemble the dry ingredients- cocoa powder, maida, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Add Nestlé MILKMAID to some softened butter and blend well. Add vanilla essence.
- Set the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Now combine the dry and wet mixtures alternately. Alternate with aerated soda and the maida mixture until they are used up.
- Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. You can also do the toothpick test mentioned above.
- Take it out of the oven. While the cake cools down, de-seed the cherries.
- Cut the cake into two halves and soak the halves in this cherry syrup.
- After this, whip sugar and cream into a fluffy mixture and spread it over two layers of cake.
- Garnish with cherries and grated milk chocolate on top. Serve chilled.
